On a participé aux Mayenne Throwdown

We participated in the Mayenne Throwdown

We participated in the Mayenne Throwdown 🏋️♂️

10 days before departure, we started a short series of vlogs to document our team preparation .
Between the shaky sync sessions, the fits of laughter and the "we'll do a real rep next time", we were far from imagining what awaited us.
Heading to the Mayenne Throwdown , with only one idea in mind: to have fun, perform, and bring back good memories (and a little bit of content, of course).

🎬 Episode 1 — The preparation & the departure

The team consists of Brandon , Solenne , Lilou and Adrien .
But for the trip, we're also taking Benjamin Barbier , his girlfriend Charlène , and Vincent Pradier .
The two guys will also end up winning the competition in Elite (yes, that's right).
We, on a more modest note, are entering the RX category , qualified… dead last 😅
But history will remember that we finished 36th out of 60 , a great comeback.

Thursday's departure?
Classic: a van for 8, packed with bags, elastic bands, Tupperware containers and promises of “clean eating”.
First night at the apartment: Adri discovers that we only have half a pack of pasta for four people.
The adventure begins. We explore the Mayenne space, each floor as impressive as the last. A quick photocall and video call, quite a disaster for our team...

🎥 Episode 2 — Day 1: Three WODs to get you started

Friday morning, a nervous awakening.
First WOD, first automatic movements, first no-reps (obviously).
But the atmosphere is crazy, the judges are on fire, and the teams around are ultra fair play.
The cameras are rolling, the playlist is starting strong.

In the vlog, Brandon gets his oven mitt stuck on a sweater live on air… a sequence that has become iconic.
Everyone laughs, except him.
But behind that lies another kind of madness:
Heavy wall balls + box step-ups + worm thrusters.
A combo designed by someone who hates joy.
We were literally run over .
The legs stopped responding, the brains left the chat, and yet we gave it our all.

🎥 Episode 3 — Day 2: The Squat Clean Ladder

Saturday is Squat Clean Ladder time.
A legendary event: heavy climbing, loud shouting, failures, successes, encouragement.
The kind of moment where you forget everything except the bar in front of you.

We also discover our first WODs combining running + box jumps, and Lilou starts to regret not having more cardio than that...

🎥 Episode 4 — Day 3: The finish we deserve

Last day. Two WODs to let loose.
The one we were most looking forward to: Handstand walk, farmer carry and rope climb.
Our best result of the weekend.
Shoulders are burning, forearms are exploding, but we keep moving forward.
That's the moment when you realize you've endured three days of effort, shouting, doubts, and laughter.

We ended up exhausted, but proud.
And above all, happy to have shared this together — a real team, a real atmosphere.

Between WODs, you run into some interesting people:

  • Lucas Heuzé , one of the best French crossfitters, who creates a meme live with WOD.LOL .

  • Lucien Larbaig and Leslie Davasse , the star commentators of Functional Vision , are still on duty.

  • Feliz Kapita , the scoring guru of major competitions.

  • Quentin from Dropin The Podcast , microphone in hand, vibes at max.

  • The CrossFit Agora team , always the funniest on the floor.

  • Rachelle and Thom, the star speakers.
  • Alexandre Pinsolle , our reliable guy.

  • And the icing on the cake: Jules Castor , one of the leading figures in French CrossFit.

🧠 Key takeaways

  • We pushed ourselves to the limit, without ever taking ourselves too seriously.

  • Competitions are tough, but they're what really brings a team together.

  • And above all: nothing beats the atmosphere of a Throwdown, with friends, cameras and a good after-party.

❤️ A huge thank you to Tommy Agu

It's impossible to conclude without mentioning Tommy Agu , the one who captured every moment, every fail, every burst of laughter of this adventure.
Always there, camera in hand, a smile playing on his lips and a joke ready to be unleashed, he brought these vlogs to life without ever asking for anything in return .
It is thanks to him that we can relive every moment of these Mayenne Throwdown — the hardships, the bars, the fits of laughter, the little moments that make all the difference.

So thanks man 🙌
Thank you for your time, your eye, your humor, and your constant good cheer during these three days of carnage.
You turned a simple weekend of competition into a memory we'll cherish for a lifetime .
And honestly… without you, it wouldn't have been the same 🎥🔥
