Summer sports bag: the checklist for your outdoor CrossFit/Hyrox session
Partager
Outdoor sessions, intense heat, double the sweat: summer changes what you really need to bring to your workout. Here's the checklist we use ourselves before every WOD or outdoor run.
Hydration: Non-Negotiable
- A large water bottle (75cl minimum): In summer, you drink almost twice as much as in winter.
- Electrolyte tablets if your session exceeds 45 minutes or if you sweat a lot.
A Complete Change of Clothes
This is THE reflex everyone forgets in summer. Soaked clothes after a session at 30°C are nothing like those from a winter workout — always plan for:
- A boxy tank or a spare crop top, light and dry for after your session. Our entire Summer Co. 2026 collection is designed for this.
- Spare socks — underrated, but they make all the difference in comfort after a shower.
- A microfiber towel, more compact than a classic towel.
Sun Protection
If your session is outdoors (park, beach, box courtyard), sun protection is basic gear, just like your shoes:
- Sweat-resistant sunscreen, to apply before you leave.
- A cap or bucket hat for running phases.
The Little Extra That Saves the Session
- A small chilled towel or a mist spray for breaks between stations.
- A light snack (banana, granola bar) for immediate recovery after exertion.
- Refreshing wipes if you're going straight to something else after your session.
What to Leave at Home in Summer
No need for layers: in summer, a single technical and breathable piece is better than thick leggings or a sweatshirt that's useless before 10 AM. Less weight in your bag, more room for water.
In Summary
A good summer gym bag contains a few essentials: hydration, a complete change of clothes, sun protection, and truly breathable attire. Everything else is superfluous weight.
