The Southtown Classic was set on fire

The Southtown Classic is kind of the WOD.LOL team's "home" competition.
No long journey, no improbable Airbnb this time: just two days of WODs, suffering, atmosphere, and silliness at CrossFit ST40 in Soustons , a stone's throw from home.
The vlog starts Saturday morning , on the first day of competition.
No filmed preparation beforehand: we're getting straight to the point.
And to be honest… we thought it would be “quiet”.
Spoiler alert: it wasn't.
🎬 Day 1 — Saturday: three WODs to get you in the fire
Saturday morning, first test, first ergometer… then a second… then a third.
WODs calibrated for tall, heavy, strong people.
In other words: not exactly the profile of our team of steroid-enhanced elves.
This format forced us to work on exactly what we like the least:
Long distances on the rowing machine
Calories to make you lose your soul
Few technical skills to exploit
Lots of desire, lots of cardio, and zero escape.
The WOD.LOL teams are giving it their all:
Brandon / Adrien
Solenne / Lilou
Gaëtan / Mélanie
WODs are unforgiving, but the atmosphere carries you through.
The audience puts in a real intensity.
The friends are all around the floor.
The local spirit is what makes this competition so cool.
🔥 Day 2 — Sunday: 3 more WODs, more ergometers
Second day, same menu: three new WODs , still loaded with ergs, still designed for those with 1m20 rods.
But instead of letting themselves be walked all over, everyone is raising the bar.
The results are in:
Solenne & Lilou win the competition 🥇
Brandon & Adrien finished 4th, just missing the podium
Gaëtan & Mélanie secured a respectable 6th place
A real achievement, especially in a format that didn't favor us.
A weekend where we learned , where we gritted our teeth, and above all where we showed that the "smaller player" can be very dangerous when he masters his pacing.
😂 Highlights — Serious on the floor, big kids off the floor
While things were serious on the court, off the court it was a free-for-all (in a good way):
Non-stop self-deprecation.
Valves on the ergs for 48 hours.
Cameras everywhere.
And an impromptu boxing/MMA fight at the end of the vlog perfectly sums up the atmosphere:
We know how to suffer, but above all, we know how to laugh.
🤝 Guests & atmosphere
Familiar faces in the area:
Alexandre Pinsolle , clearly came to win, but always available for a laugh.
And then friends everywhere: Thomas, Agathe, Pierre , and many other familiar faces.
The overall atmosphere?
Serious competition, but friendly, local, authentic.
Real CrossFit “from back home”, where athletes, judges, teams and spectators know and respect each other.
❤️ Thank you Tommy & the team
A huge thank you to Tommy , who handled all the filming and editing of the vlog.
and even real-time WOD recaps all weekend.
The guy is everywhere at once: behind the camera, on the timeline, in the private jokes.
A weekend like this, without him, is not the same weekend.
Thanks also to the whole WOD.LOL team:
for acting in front of the camera
for self-deprecation
for energy
for the good vibe
That's what makes these vlogs, and that's what we like to document.
